Meet Dr. Catherine Wood

Expertise Rooted in Rigorous Training

Dr. Catherine Wood is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in Neuropsychology. Her dedication to understanding brain-behavior relationships began at Wake Forest University, followed by her Master’s and Doctoral degrees from the University of Georgia. To achieve the highest level of specialization in her field, Dr. Wood completed a highly competitive clinical internship and a formal, two-year postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology at the VA Memphis Health Care System.

Experience in Specialized Care

Before returning home to the Carolinas, Dr. Wood served for four years as a Staff Neuropsychologist at the South Texas VA Health Care System in San Antonio. There, she provided complex assessment and intervention services to Veterans while also serving as a mentor and supervisor, training the next generation of neuropsychology interns and fellows. These years working within a complex healthcare system solidified her belief that every patient deserves a dedicated advocate who deeply understands the nuances of brain health.

Settling in the Lowcountry

Dr. Wood established her independent practice to bring this high-level specialized expertise directly to the Lowcountry, where she and her husband have chosen to put down roots. Here, she blends her rigorous academic background with a compassionate, person-centered approach, ensuring that every patient leaves her office with a clear understanding of their brain health and a definitive roadmap for what comes next.
